Romanian WASR-10

Been eyeballing the Romanian AK's on classicarms the last few days. Same with the wolf ammo in stock. It looks like they are jacking the prices up every 24 hours or so. If I keep waiting they are going to be gone or unaffordable pretty soon.

What do you guys think of the prices? Will there be better deals in the future or are we reaching the very end here. I don't know much about this particular rifle, so I was wondering if it was worth it or not.

$550 for the WASR-10 and $280 for 1000 rounds of Wolf 7.62 FMJ.

WASR 10 AKs have been opened up to accept standard 30-round AK mags. These used to be as low as $289 a few years ago. Still, at todays prices they seem like a bargain and I doubt you will find them cheaper anywhere else. Most WASRs I have seen at shows are going for $750 and up.

If you are going to plop down $450, go ahead and spend the extra $50 and get the 3 extra mags and carrying case that Classic is advertising. The 30-round mags I've seen locally are selling for about $25 each.

At some point, I fully expect King Knucklehead to issue an executive order banning further imports of AK-type rifles, so $450 to $500 now might be looked upon as a killer bargain down the road.

still a good deal as others have said. are you covered in other areas, though? also from experience with wasr's, maybe i've got lucky but ive found them good to excellent for what they are.if you are going to spend 2-3x that for a higher end ak get a fal or m1a instead..

that being said they make an acceptably accurate medium range carbine, get 1 or 2.

This sounds like a decent deal then. I have one Norinco SKS that accepts 30 round AK magazines. I also have 7 extra high cap mags and about 1000 rounds of ammunition. I want to get another 1000 rounds of the Wolf FMJ but those prices are starting to get really high. Still a good deal considering all thats going on.

My brother is ordering a kit to build an AR-15 and wants an M-1. My dad really is thinking about an AR-15 as well. I am starting to mentally arm the rest of my family. I have a Ruger 10-22, Norinco SKS Model-D, Glock 21, and soon maybe this WASR-10. My brother just bought a Springfield 1911. My family has about 6-12 gauge shotguns, various 20 gauges, and a .22 Marlin rifle. My dad also has a Japanese .25 or something weird. I have about 7 or 8 people to wonder about.

I figure I have a mix for hunting and defense. Long ranges scare the hell out of me. Also considering all the damn hunters that comb the fields during deer season. If we touch something off I want to reach out and touch someone to. I am not sure if I need more assault rifles or long range. I don't know anything about actual rifles.

Actually the thing that worries me the most is deer hunting. We have wide open fields, that hunters often comb through. I can only imagine if property rights broke down that you would have people trouncing all over your turf. I mean business if it gets that bad. I am prepared to get Viet Cong on my property. I'm talking pungi sticks and pit traps as well as pissed off dogs. I have a German Shepard on my to do list. My family has only a couple of older mutts and one has 3 legs after being attacked by wild dogs. :sarcasm:

from the family standpoint, the ar's and m-1 would cover what the ak or sks couldnt.

Man there is alway a way to make a buck.

Just find the bubble, buy right and supply the need.
